Quota Management

The Quota feature allows you to control how many responses your survey collects. It helps you limit participation based on specific criteria and ensures that your data collection aligns with your research goals.

Overview

Quotas are used to restrict the number of responses collected for a survey or for specific groups within a survey. Once the defined limit is reached, respondents are prevented from continuing further.

This feature is particularly useful when conducting targeted research, ensuring balanced representation, or controlling the size of your dataset.

How to Use Quotas

To configure quotas, navigate to the Quota tab in your survey editor. From there, you can define limits for the number of responses you want to collect.

Global Quotas

Set a total response limit for the entire survey. This helps when you only need a fixed number of participants before closing the study.

Conditional Quotas

Limit responses for specific demographic groups based on conditions (e.g. limit to 100 responses from users aged 18-24).

Respondent Experience

When a quota is reached, respondents attempting to access or continue the survey will be stopped from proceeding further.

You can configure a custom OverQuota message in the Settings section to inform users why they cannot continue. This ensures transparency and improves the overall user experience.

Best Practices

  • Clearly define your target audience before setting quotas.
  • Use conditional quotas to ensure balanced representation across different user groups.
  • Always configure an OverQuota message to gracefully inform users when limits are reached.
  • Test your survey thoroughly to ensure quotas are working as expected.
  • Monitor response data in real time to avoid over-collection or imbalance.
